J-STD-001 Course
 
J-STD-001 is the international standard derived by industry that details the requirements for soldered electrical and electronic assemblies and is currently at Revision D.

J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) training and certification is primarily aimed at those individuals involved in or responsible for producing electronic assemblies, however it does also provide a good all round grounding for anyone in the industry.

J-STD-001 CIS training can be delivered either as Initial Certification or Re-certification.

Initial Certification

The training programme consists of 5 one-day classroom/workshop delivered modules:
 

Successful completion of Module 1 is mandatory in order to undertake any of Modules 2-5. Certification is awarded upon successful completion of Module 1 and then the optional modules can be undertaken as required and annotated on the certificate when successfully completed.

We can provide a programme to suit your needs, either covering all modules in a single 5-day block or delivered individually over a period of time.

Successful completion of Modules 1-4 is deemed to have satisfied the requirements of Module 5 with no further instruction required.

J-STD-001 certification is valid for 2 years.

Re-certification

For those who have previously completed Initial Certification and hold a valid certificate, it is not necessary (although it is sometimes beneficial) to complete the 5 one-day modules in order to re-certify.

J-STD-001 Re-certification training is carried out over two days covering all 5 modules and aims to refresh the student on the requirements of the latest revision of J-STD-001. Upon successful completion of the written and workmanship tests, certification is awarded and is valid for 2 years.
